The Headley Trust Grant is a global part of Sainsbury Family charitable trust and it is a non-profit foundation based on UK. The foundation is supporting innovative idea, projects, venture and impactful projects in community level for both in the UK and overseas.
Apart from the headley trust grant making, the foundation focus a strategic places such as community development, and humanitarian interventions across a various sub-Saharan African Countries in order to reach locally led initiatives that uplift and improve education system, youth employment program, water and sanitation, and community health, particular for girls and women. The trust is now accepting an application for grant fund to amplify the above mentioned sectors in a certain countries in East Africa Countries.

Eligible Criteria
To be eligible grant fund please check out to meet the following qualify for funding
- A registered charity, NGO, and Charitable organization
- Based on the Eligible countries in Sub-Saharan Africa
- Propose a project or program that directly linked the foundation priority area
- Be locally led initiatives that be part national expert or involving community based structure
- Demonstrate strong leadership, capacity and governance to deliver outcomes
- Organizations, persons and groups outside the allowing countries are not totally eligible to apply
- The trust also does not support the capital infrastructure not related focus area
- Projects should emphasize local ownership, long-term sustainability, and measurable outcomes. Collaborations with grassroots partners are strongly encouraged.
Eligible Country
The Headley Trust funds projects are eligible to apply countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. Include:
- Malawi
- Sierra Leone
- Somaliland
- Uganda
- Kenya
- Zambia
Any organization working outside the above countries are not considered
Grant Process
The grant process will undergo two main stages:
- Phase 1: Initial Enquiry form: Applicants must submit an application requirements that summarizing their projects and its objective and impact
- Phase 2: Those shortlisted will requested to submit a full proposal invitation and more detailed budget and supporting documents
Notice: No formal template or downloadable form to request grant application, but unsolicited enquiries within its focus areas is welcome
