Chance for Childhood is an international non-profit charity that is committed to empowering marginalized and vulnerable children across several countries, including Kenya, Ghana, Uganda, and Rwanda. The charity actively works with local organizations to accelerate the support of children impacted by crisis, conflict, and poverty, as well as the homeless and disability. The Organization is implementing a holistic approach that focuses on education access, justice, and access to inclusion education system. Chance for childhood is driven and delivering impactful projects initiated from the community’s needs.
CFC is looking for chief executive officer who is highly dedicated and professional visionary leader to join the organization to contribute to the ongoing efforts invested by the organization in child protection, disability inclusion, and driven local development. The position holder will lead and direct a major shift in context and global charity leadership through moving power and decision-making. As the organization prepares its transition to Africa, the new CEO will embody its values and integrity to guide the organization a new Direction to the next chapter
Position Description
The ideal candidate for this CEO position will play a big role on the Board of Trustees, and he/she will shape and direct the CFC’s strategy and drive a big innovation, and champion the African-led solution for children’s rights and their wellbeing. This position offers a rare chance to move a growing organization that involves community-rooted change and prioritizing inclusion and equity. This is a senior leadership position requiring a strategic thinker, dynamic communicator, and experienced nonprofit executive with a deep understanding of African development contexts.
Summary of the Position
The Position holder will be responsible:
- Directing the organization’s long-term strategy and vision
- Supervision programmes and daily operation across multiple counties
- Supporting the internal system and fundraising efforts and financial management
- Foster the global partnership and acting focal point the major CFC on global stages
Ensuring ethical leadership and good governance
Roles and Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the organizational culture, strategy and human resource system
- Managing the global fundraising activities and communication plans
- Overseeing the all programme result partnership and innovation
- Working with the board of directors and governance and planning
- Act as represent CFC and advocate the major change outside the organization
- Monitor the financial stability and compliance legal standards
Required Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have:
- Leadership experience in the non-profit sector or development sector
- Strategic management knowledge particular in child right and social justice work
- Knowledge in the context of African and regional culture
- Experience with safeguarding and organizational ethics
- A track record of fundraising success across multiple donor
Skills and Knowledge

- A collaborative and inclusive leadership style
- Strong financial management and budget forecasting
- A global diverse network and development sector

Position Details
Job Title: Chief Executive Officer
Location: Based in Uganda, Rwanda, or Ghana
Salary: Starting from £50,000 GBP, based on experience and location
Work Mode: Hybrid (office presence required several days/week)
Travel: Occasional international travel (2–3 times annually)
